Lavender Mosspig

Mosspigs are tiny, playful creatures. They are typically brightly colored, contrasting acutely with the environment. Although they are very quick on their little feet (and known to go even faster downhill just by rolling) they are usually very easy for a potential predator to spot - but, like many colorful insects and frogs, Mosspigs are poisonous. What is the nature of their poison, you might wonder? Capsaicin. Mosspigs are VERY spicy. They themselves are immune to the chemical, and will eat even the hottest of peppers with impunity. They are also unbothered by the strong flavors of plants in the onion/garlic family and will often consume wild ramps and chives, which gives them (temporarily) an even more intimidating flavor.

Mosspigs have resin cast faces and legs, and sturdy polymer clay antennae, all painted with acrylics and sealed with polyurethane varnish. Their bodies are firmly stuffed plush with a coat of soft synthetic fur. The base of the legs are wired together within the body, allowing the legs to be posed in any direction. The antennae are also attached to the face with wire. In order to avoid visible wire at the base of the antennae, the free wire portion is very short, and only allows a limited range of movement. Please do not force the antennae to bend more than they easily will, and do not bend them frequently. The antennae themselves are made of a blend mostly consisting of one of the strongest brands of polymer clay (Cernit) so they are not brittle.

Lavender Mosspig stands approximately 10.75cm (4.25") tall from front foot to the top of its ears.
